Can someone just clear something up for me about this please. Regarding this topic I made about changing the address on my liscence viewtopic.php?f=5&t=24953&p=240975#p240975 ( I have now changed it).

This person I watched on tv appeared to have had his liscence revoked for this, I was to believe you could not get your liscence revoked once the 2 year period was up, I thought any punishment was in the form of bans, i.e drink driving or getting 12 points+?

Why would it be revoked for a non motoring offence, I mean someone could easily not realise that the address had to be changed.

Plus if the registered keeper is at the new address isnt that all thats needed to send any letters the DVLA write?

Any tickets or letters go to the registered keepers address dont they? I was just a bit worried given I was at my new address a little while before I changed it.

I was also confused because I thought any letters the dvla send go to the registered keeper? Given that my mother lives at the address that was on my lisence card before isnt that accepted? I was just concerned that if she had not given me letters if they had tried to contact me for any reason.

Thanks

Rob

Your licence is a priviledge, not a right.
It can be revoked for a variety of reasons/transgressions.
Failing to present your licence to have points put on it.
Failing to pay child maintenance.
Benefit fraud, and probably loads more.

Ok so wouldnt letters from the dvla regarding points go to the registered keeper? I changed the registered keepers address when I got the new car just hadnt changed the actual photocard lisence. Im assuming the guy who got his liscence revoked hadnt changed the registered keeper so he wasnt getting those points letters?
