Funny.... NOBODY mentioned bikes without lights!
There are so many around us, I have given up trying to lecture them, as I was not getting home until my tea had gone cold! :x

I think ALL road users - including pedestrians should pass a test, and have third party insurance. :stirthepot:

Neil, you need to get your pictures hosted on the web somewhere, then simply use the IMAGE button above the message pane, to link to the picture.
Try EPSON at http://www.epsonphoto.co.uk/welcome.jsp - they have a site which you join to share pictures, or HELO from Picasa (a useful program you can download from a link via google downloads)

A cyclist:- Unless the law has changed since I were a lad, if you want to jump lights or break any other rule of the road with a bike, then you must carry it. Whilst it's wheels are on the ground, you're a cyclist! :stirthepot:

:banghead: Arghhhhhhh, I still can't figure out how to show an image in my post.

I have however managed to create a link :D

Isnt it lovely  , I did 47 mph going down Rhigos mountain yesterday :veryhappy: Fastest ever was Mont Ventoux at 56 mph.

Anyway it does seem that opinion leans towards some sort of compulsary test. It realy should be brought in, no one should be allowed on our main roads without some sort of training. As for insurance, my bike is insured.

I have to admit that my bike has no light fixtures, this is because I never cycle in the dark. This is mostly due to our roads being very dangerous for cyclists at night. In the linked piccy, the parrot on my handle bars is of course the compulsary audible warning device. Sheep realy dont like it (no jokes please).

I don't think that image will allow you to link directly to it. Otherwise, it's quite simple, just put an [img]tag%20before%20the%20URL%20and%20an[/img] tag after it, like this:

Nice one pete, I suppose that's the good thing about clip ons, if someone tries to pinch my bike they're buggered. Problem is trying to run after them in cycling shoes :bounce1:

I've tried putting the img thingies on both side of the link, so why wont this picure work?

You cannot link to the Yahoo pictures - I suspect it's because there is no www in the address, as it is a "hosted" link.
I dont think links to my sons site work for the same reason... I'll just have a go.... Oh, it DOES work! Image
maybe it's because yours is a redirect.

Did you try the Epson site I gave the link for? I use it, and it works fine.
http://www.epsonphoto.co.uk/welcome.jsp

You might like to download the picasa link from Google. It enables you to email nice quality pics. with a small file size. If you email them to yourself and then upload the new version of your original photo, it saves on file space on the server.
BTW - your link shows your email address - every spammer in the land is busy adding it to their database! Do you have some great spam filters in place? :?

are they the 105 wheels? quite like the look of those but i already have 2 sets for my road bike (soon to be 3).

i topped 47ish in the peak district a few weeks ago but i wasnt looking at the speedo at the time.

todays event was great... two right turns with nice policie-men stopping the traffic.. 21mph average on the way out.... round the roundabout to find the wind. (the swim before and the run after were ok too).

mmmm.. wet lycra

This is what mine looked like when I bought it. It suits the road conditions around here (Cumbria)
It now has road tyres, mudguards, Cateye 5 LED front lamp, and quick release saddle stem.
I also have lots of Scotchlite reflective dots all over the bike, a gel saddle and tool/med kit under the saddle.

My pride and joy is the 120 decibel AIRZOUNDS airhorn, driven off a pump-up resevoir, which has motorists who cut you up looking for a TRUCK!!

I dont look good in Lycra, but my wife likes it!

Can anyone recommend a new one for me.

I'm looking to progress from this.....

Image

Seriously tho', got this and a li'l puddin (both Giant) for my 2 girls 5th and 3rd birthdays next month.

Initially had a look in Halfords, and was shocked that none of the kiddies bikes had any useful brakes - they were either too far from the bars or too hard to pull effectively, or usually both :x .

These were much better - seemed to be built more as a bike than a toy.

i was thinking of one of those for my commuting bike.

presumeably you only use it to make other road users aware of your presence

If you keep looking in Halfords, I doubt you'll do any better than the one youv'e got!

Couldn't you just stick a blue flashing lamp on it, and get the saddle raised a little? :D

Try Millennium Cycles in Staveley - he's ex-job, although thats not a good enough reason to go there in its self
You are more than welcome to try mine out during the day - and I work just opposite Wheelbase in the Mill Yard!! Did you know they sell off their ex-hire bikes on a regular basis?

I got my Cateyes and horn from the States at a great discount, even allowing for postage - £120 pound worth of gear (at UK prices) for £65 including P&P. The website has been pulled now - more price fixing from suppliers I bet! :?

Actually, it's great for getting rid of loose rust and paint prior to repainting metalwork or brickwork!

All you need do is pump up the resevoir with your bike pump, every 15 - 18 blasts to maintain max. volume.
I am careful about using it near old age pensioners and dumb animals which might be startled by it though!
