There was a phone number on another forum of an organisation who had an LTi 20-20 and were prepared to lend it to anyone who would leave a deposit.

It supposedly had a calibration certificate and was a UK version.

If anyone fancies it, I could see if I could fnd the number.

Panic setting in. Resistance is futile.

They are unlikely to modify the firmware themselves, that would require detailed technical knowledge of the system's hardware *and* low-level programming knowledge. I doubt even LTI have more than a few people who do this sort of thing.

Also the variations talked about here are not "minor variations" but fixing fundamental operating flaws that would be used on all models if they were fixed.

ROTFL

Are you really suggesting that Teletraffic modify the software?

If they have, no wonder they don't work properly!

Do the police decide on penalties these days? I thought that was up to the Courts?

The police and the courts are both part of the Camera Partnerships, so their relationship is obviously more intimate than perhaps it should be

Well it's 22:22 and it looks quite quiet on here, I haven't seen the program but I expected far more triumphalism than this.
Wasn't it as spectacular as you all expected?
Perhaps I'll read all about it tomorrow. :o

So somebody comes to you and says that they are going to do a damning report on one of your products. You say that it cannot do what they are going to report. So what do you do..... nothing  A simple loan of one device could have killed that report dead before it even hit the airwaves.

Reminds me of the all those people who say they have a working Perpetual Motion/Free energy machine. Ask you to invest your money but as soon as somebody wants to see it working in a proper test (not just lighting a small bulb shown in the videos), they go all quiet but still ask for more investment because they know there are plenty of believers out there . Only difference is we get sent a demand for money.

Nice to see that the CPS still dropping cases as soon as somebody starts asking awkward questions.

Quote from a local scamera operator "I prefer the vans, the Galaxy has soft suspension and is bounces around a lot when lorries go past."

Anybody who has seen video of camera operations knows that the crosshair waves all over the vehicle while targetting is taking place. I can EASILY imagine it being "slipped" down the side of the vehicle during targetting, especially if "loose bolts" mean that the camera isn't pointing where the laser is

Worse still.....

Would it surprise you to learn that the image stabilizers on the video cameras are used.

This means that the laser beam can be flapping about all over the place while the camera shows a nice little smooth picture.

Good isn't it!

Dusky Doug scraping around desperately for more snipes at the system.
Still waiting chaps, will the CameraOperator and JJ have to leave the scene until the morrow?

Perhaps everyone else (including you it seems) was watching Coronation Street, but then that in itself speaks volumes.

I'm in Scotland and was probably the only person (apart from Paul) up here watching it (thank goodness for Astra 2).

The cat is out the bag though - it doesn't matter if the majority were excluded from seeing it or watching fiction on the other channel at the time.....

BBC inside London did a summery here

The camera has been rigorously tested by the home office as part of the type approval process. This applies to all similar equipment such as breathalysers. If exhaustive testing has already been done and the equipment has been found to be accurate there is no reason to give it to any self appointed expert with an axe to grind to test again. A good journalist will always be able to find some one from the modern day equivalent of the flat earth society to oppose the majority view but the BBC should have the integrity to present a balanced picture based on the facts rather than take the tabloid route of not letting the facts get in the way of a good story.

:rotfl:

The camera partnerships and the Home Office should have the confidence to bear continual scrutiny. If there is nothing to hide then they have nothing to lose and everything to gain from handing over one of these devices to be tested.

We have tested ours, no faults found.
Perhaps someone could forward the method as we sure can't get them to go wrong.

Heh heh!

Use of the Freedom of Information Act has already demonstrated that no testing for the "slip" effect was carried out as part of the Type Approval process.

No I was outside polishing a couple of motorcycles.
I will be watching it on video tomorrow hopefully, I'll keep my kidney belt on in case my ribs pop out.

Still using someone else's account I see....

You must enjoy being a non-person.
