The prosecution may be reasonable given the circumstances, which I don't know, but the ban surely isn't.

as with all these cases (woman on hard shoulder etc) its difficult to get to the real truth.

Although at this time, knowing what little i do know, its hard to escape the conclusion that the prosecution and sentence were primarily motivated by vengence.

It sounds like revenge and/or make an example of him. The more the media coverage the less likely someone else will do the same thing. Make us afraid, very, very afraid and let us all know they are watching us.
