If the maximum safe speed for the corner is 25, that means it's a second gear corner and really quite tight. The stopping distance for (highway code) 20 mph is 12 meters and for 30 is 23 meters. If your saying (asuming i've read correctly) that you can see 50 meters, then there would be plenty of room to stop even if most people are exceeding the 30 limit.

Could it be that as it's near home you are a little more aware and sensitive to how fast people are going?

In that case I would not turn right, it's simple self preservation. Turn left then turn around at a safer place.

I would do if the road weren't closed at the bottom.
