It has to be said! This must have taken a great deal of skill!

Other motorists ignored electronic motorway signs which warned them about the oncoming vehicle and asked them to slow to 20mph.

I wonder why.

Could it be that most of the time the information on these electronic sgins is wrong and irrelevent.

Edit to add

Quote:
The motorist apparently stuck to the 70mph speed limit during the trip.

Proof it you stick to the limit you shall not crash no matter what you do

Eh? Are we to believe that HATOs set up a 'rolling road block' running against the traffic?

i wonder what they actually said... to be fair i've never seen one saying '20mph warning: oncoming nutter' and if i did i think i might take some notice.

is 20mph & a warning really a suitable response anyway?... i guess you cant just put the red Xs on... how about filter everyone into L1 ?

presumeably it was in one of its characteristic positions when this happened
i.e. either
a) parked in the depot for a cup of tea
b) parked on a bridge over the motorway tutting
c) parked on a police only ramp looking the wrong way

He was perfectly safe because he stuck to the limit. It's lucky he didn't do 71 because that might have caused a crash......
