I don't have a problem with you being a C+ member, in fact I think that Racer's post is a little pointless (although I DON'T like the insinuation that your question was lost on me :P )

.

I don't think he is trolling actually, but thought it worth a heads-up. The real C+ troll is that wavydavy bloke who has now registered there as Yusufbin -somethingor other. He is constantly posting out anti-Safespeed
lies.

Your right Racer - Toomey - Yousallbeendownpub has been sacked on C+ loads of times but just re invents himself with a new name.

He refers to this site (on C+) as CrapSpeed.

Mad as a hatter IMO

As somebody has already pointed out jub jub posts on C+ as Mr Paul.

WavyDavylunatic needs to get a life.

Welcome to the site Mr Paul, since I've been banned from C+ for pointing out that the aforementioned idiot thinks that heroin is a benign drug and wants it legalised (although hes an idiot for other reasons than this), I look forward to debating road safety with you.

Paul is exactly right - people who panic brake are entirely responsible for their own actions. The problem is that the authorities can't simply say "Well, this is how we do things, and people will just have to live with it". If their actions are making the roads a less safe place, then they should address that. What they're doing at the moment is closing their eyes and sticking their fingers in their ears.

All of us here want more traffic police, better driver education, and safer roads more than anything - and please don't forget that I'm a cyclist, and like you have many times probably considered kicking a driver's door in because of their crap driving. Never have yet.....yet.....

BTW, and not to hijack this thread, but I've been browsing the C+ forums for the occasional laugh, and would like to point out to the madcap lunatic that he personally complained to the admins of said board when I called him a drug pusher. Thats why I got banned :)

Paul

If you are referring to the discussion with Bad Company, and without wishing to bring the argument over her, it is more historical than simply one thread. Feel free to do some back-reading if you have the time.

If you are referring to the comments about the SafeSpeed thread relating to the Birmingham incident where an uninsured driver went through a red light on a crossing and killed a medical student, then I guess that there is some righteous anger aimed at some of the posts on that thread. I am fully aware that internet forums are open to all, and posts are not necessarily representative of the majority, nor the management.

They've resorted to personal insults now Paul, always a sign that they don't understand the argument.

I mean I'm all for good rational debate, but a minority over there do seem to take great pleasure in disagreeing with the general premise of this site. I can understand some of the anger, whenever I'm on the bike I frequently get very pissed off with the actions of some motorists to the point of wanting to hit something. What they don't seem to understand is that the majority of people posting here are just as concerned about this kind of driving as they are. Unfortunately 'speed' is now a very ugly word, and is wrongly associated with 'dangerous'.

By the way Jub Jub, and just to make it clear that I don't for one moment think that the poor girl who was killed on the crossing 'deserved it', I have yet to see any confirmation that the crossing light was indeed red.

I'm not having a go! I'm just asking for clarification. If the light was on green and the poor girl didn't look at the road, it would change things somewhat. Just to reaffirm - I'm not having a go or attempting to be controversial - just asking for clarification.

Thanks for that. Little mystery cleared up there.

People like that shouldn't ever drive again.

I wish I believed that. If I thought that there was any possibility of anything other than a hurling of abuse I would gladly participate. Although many of the C+ inhabitants appear not to understand, we're actually on the same side and I'd build bridges in a flash.

There's nothing to be afraid of. I thought in fact that you would welcome the opportunity to get your points across, as you think that you are being mis-quoted.

Most seem to be more anti-car than pro-bike as far as I can tell.

So Cycling Plus posters are described on this thread as "idiots" "liars" "libellous" and so on, but smith won't accept an invitation to air his fascinating theories (WVM less dangerous than cyclists anyone? Anyone?) on Cycling Plus because he fears he'll be abused.

Ho hum.

There's a challenge place on this website isn't there?

Yep, here:

http://www.safespeed.org.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=17

Well, a challenge has been issued together with a promise that we'll be gentle with smith if he's worried, and the challenge is declined.

What exactly is he terrified of?

Exposure?

No, he's probably fed up with dealing with idiots like this one who do none of us any favours whichever side of the fence one sits on.

Outrage at trolls? And yet the pretend copper and his retarded swiss family did their very best to shut down this forum last year.

I'm not afraid. Are you kidding?

I'm simply not going to stir up fruitless conflict.

Are you a previously banned poster?

Wayneo, I have a thread stored somewhere where the resident fake copper on this forum admitted on a Cycling Plus thread that he had employed a dozen aliases on Cycling Plus in order to disrupt the site and post crapspeed propoganda. I'm happy to send it to you if you like.

And you guys whine and snivel about trolls?

Come on! You want to gain credibility surely?

You aren't frightened of dialogue?

Accept the challenge. Risk some mild cynicism but you have my word I won't throw insults around, just some probing questions!
