The way I work out what speed to drive is determine the maximum safe speed in the ways you describe, then the speed limit and drive at whichever is the lower of the two as I cannot afford to lose my job through points on the licence.
The bit road I'm talking about is regularly travelled by lorries at 56mph, even on the corners, they are pathetic corners that in 90% of road conditions very few people should need to slow down for (well, at least, no need to slow down below about 40) but they do.
I could understand it if the roads had really tall hedges which the trucks can see over, but they dont, and I hope you wern't thinking that I was branding /ALL/ old people (in Rover 200s) as slow unconfident drivers. I realise that this is not the case and stated so in my last post. There are rather a lot of them about though.
