Cheers forthat Johnny.

I feel as happy in my car as I do on my motorbike as I do on my bicycle as I do when walking

Maybe it's about atttude to life and wanting to savour each moment.

Believe me . if you did my job for a day.. you'd understand this. If you went through the black hole which I entered with the Swiss when Ferdl died that way and when we almost lost the lovely Vrenchen Wildy :neko: - perhaps mos would understand why we savour each second !

Peyote.. :welcome: As usual . you are a tonic of decency.

I've heard rumours that many London Boroughs are starting to treat pedestrian traffic in the same way as road traffic. That is, measuring the numbers of pedestrians and waiting times at crossings I seem to remember being at a meeting where they even demonstrated the modelling software used to do this. I suspect this will mean many more sets of traffic lights will be retimed to cater more for the pedestrian element rather than road traffic. If this is true I doubt things will be getting much better (for road transport anyway!) in London for a long time yet.

Johnny, you seem to know people in the "Transport-set" in London, do you know if there is any truth in these rumours?

There is truth about rephasing for peds. There is a junction near where I live that now has a 6-10 second no light phase in a pelican. The vehicle traffic is on red (all 4) and the ped traffic goes from green to no light to red, I do not know if there is a delay in going from red to green. I have not used a watch to time it yet but it is significantly different to what it used to be.

You claimed about 4 pages ago und once in the seat belt thread we post up for debate that your speed cameras cop those not wearing seat belts und on handy phones.

actually greenshed is right - only at present these "other crimes" are not within the SCP nip remit so they are passed onto local police with a statement and visual evidence, hence the offence becomes a police reportable offence

Which is why it is important to have good research before policies are implemented.

As in if all those numbers of people are doing 'X' and the stats are holding for those apparent bad behaviours, it calls into question if there is a 'real world' problem in those areas as has been suggested (by Gov) ?

and
Is full enforcement actually justified ?
