If it was golf, I'd have a go, but I have no objection to the other things.

:o So what's your objection to golf? Is it another case of a pre-judged opinion about the participants?

Even though your remarks viz your attitude towards other drivers suggest you are one yourself?

Meaning what precisely? You need some form of physical demonstration?

and it’s better to show your appreciation for humanity with good driving behaviour (like obeying the speed limit),

Which I try to do to the best of my ablity even though my IAM examiner - a well known class of road slob known as a former Police Class A instructor - advised me to 'pinch' a few mph whilst passing other vehicles on the motorway to get the maneouvre done safely. Oh, and he was quite happy to give me a pass before you offer any smartass remark.

If you have to use an extreme metaphor to 'prove' your point, you have no point to make. You are simply creating white noise.

Can't be bothered with the rest, I feel this discourse could simply expand to fill any available time I have; I'll go and knit fog in the meantime, its less wet and and a lot less thick.

You have a lot of good qualities, RigPig, but I'll always be able to knit fog better than you can.

No, it just that it is a waste of a good walk!

No, it means that obeying the speed limit is not strictly always good driving behaviour. You should have either qualified the statement or left it out because it is an incorrect generalisation.

Yeah - maybe it's too harsh. I've pissed off old RigPig now, and he's a good fellow. I'm getting soft on you fellows - you are not as bad as I made out.

Tend to do as Wildy :neko: and IG - single hazard or a wobble depending on situation.

Funny we don't hear so much about road rage in the media any more.

Headline of Manchester was full of a road raging bus driver. Apparently a torrent of abuse mouthed at the driver of an Audi TT who used his Handy phone cam to snap the two fingered salute! Or rather his wife in the passneger seat did!

The fracas apparently started because the Audi driver asked him to move as the bus driver was blocking the junction between Heathlands Drive and Kersal Road in Prestwich, Manchester. The bus driver refused so the Audi driver reversed and drove around the bus! This seemed to annoy the bus driver per the report as he tried to edge forward and push the driver off the road. The Audi driver tooted his horn and the bus driver reportedly leaned out of his window and screamed abuse at him. Audi driver's wife decided to take a photo of bus number and reg number to report to the company management - and the driver obliged with a two fingered salute! Plus apparently bad language in front of some rather reportedly amused passengers.

The couple say they will no longer allow their mums to travel by bus and will now pay their fares! (Couple in mid 20s) "as such behaviour is quite shocking for people of pensionable age" :?

Rather think their mums will have heard worse!

The bus company is investigating the matter and have apologised on behalf of their driver!

So road rage is still out there!

Ultimately - costs nothing to show some manners and can help reduce these kind of silly incidents.

Go rinse your mouth out! After all that fresh air - there is always the nineteenth hole too!

It's great fun playing in the fog too - as you then have no idea where the ball went ....

You bloody lightweight. Play in the snow, and not with dayglo orange balls either - then you know where the ball was going but you can't find it when you get there  . Besides, winter rules have helped me out of more than one lousy lie. Sadly nobody has ever let me move it 300 yards and they only ever let me move it a few inches.

You do that too! 8-)

Phew! Glad I'm not the one who plays in the snow! Wildy thinks I'm definitely deranged over my golf! :bunker:

It has been known, and sadly some of my better rounds have been in the winter ('cos eveyone's going round in scores that wouldn't look out of place in a round of darts  ). But the bag's been in the cupboard for a few years now.

Are their enough golfers here for a Safe Speed Golf day? I play and so does Mrs Rewolf.

We don't suffer to badly from snow down here, but hard frozen temporary greens on our sloping fairways are a nightmare. Did a Foursomes Medal once, and despite being on the green in regulation the slope was so severe and the ground so solid and bobbly that it took 10 putts to get in the hole! Ball either settled into a hollow 4' above the hole or another one 14' below the hole and wouldn't stop anywhere in-between.

My dad always said that golf was a "character-building" game! :)

Play it as a Stableford - and add extra points for fastest round? :-)

There is obviously a bit of confusion here. I propose "the construction and use act 2005."

All Motor vehicles with 4 wheels or more must be retro fitted with courtesy panels front and rear.

These panels must be able to display illuminated symbols
:D Thanks
:( no thanks

 omg
:drink2: have you been drinking?
:gatso2: gatso ahead
:speakno: I am going to break the law ... don't tell any one
:legorally: sorry (blame map reader)
:juggle: I am trying to answer the phone, give the kids the toys back and drive!
 turn it down...

What like this: LED Scrolling Message Display.

Need to do something with the controls though, because a remote control like a TV remote is not exactly safe to fiddle with while driving - perhaps a set of user-defined buttons on the wheel or dash that flash up the message for 5 seconds or so.
