How refreshing to see that the moderators are actually allowing anti-camera, pro police posts through for a change.

And a quick scan of the "recommends" demonstrates the vast majority of people are against cams, and a lot of sensible reasons why they're against...

Maybe there is hope after all?

That debate has actually been going for a few days. Notice how the BBC has gone back to fully moderating most of the Have You Says lately, so they can still have some bias in deciding what messages are posted - thank goodness for still being able to recommend comments.

Quote from BBC Have you say:

some people are funny. why cant you realise we cant pick and choose which laws we will obey and those we wont. dont drive fast = no fine. And for those who moan at being caught at 31mph - too bad, learn how to judge speed. you wouldnt let someone off for only beating up someone up a little bit would you?

Obviously this person hasn't studied our justice system to any degree.....

To answer his question: No we let them off for beating the Sh** out of someone so shouldn't drivers have at least a little leaway then?

Andrew

Thanks for mentioning this. I've made my comments, but I haven't confined it to the speed camera issue. I'm strongly opposed to the entire approach now being adopted with regard to monitoring drivers' behaviour. Neither drivers nor any other portion of our communities should be subject to the levels of surveillance now being applied. It is grossly excessive and I don't know what the blazes the government thinks it is doing. Our people should not be treated this way, and I sincerely hope the government will reap the whirlwind come election time.

....and the Opposition had better watch its step too. Conservatives - mind what you're doing with your manifesto.

Best wishes all,
Dave - alias 'outraged' of Whitby!
