I have heard of a couple of cases. It's a serious charge, and you must talk to a solicitor.

If you were attempting to pervert the course of justice, and they have evidence of the fact, then an early guilty plea should be worth around one third of any sentence.

The standard of proof to obtain a conviction should be quite high, and if you could show that you had made a mistake or misunderstood the paperwork (or whatever), then you might well be able to succeed with a not guilty plea.

I don't see any problem with you telling us what happened. I'll do my very best to help.

In July 2003 my father and I went on a trip to Norfolk. We recieve NIP and thought my father was driving he was insured on my vehicle at the time. The NIP had no photo with it or info of speed of vehicle. Therefore my father thought he was driving at the time. He then recieved a summons and information regarding the offence but this wasnt till november. We then found out the driver was myself from the photo and that the speed was 102mph stupid I know. Therefore we have consulted with a solcitor and my father has now submitted a not guilty plea. The case is contunuing with him in the magistrates court. I myself have had a visit from the police and he asked me questions on the door step asI didnt wish to speak without legal representation. I have been cautioned.

I am up the creak without a paddle I have 9 points already on my licence 3 for supposedly goin thro an amber the rest speeding about 10mph above speed limit.

I truly am scared about situation ie loss of job etc but will have to try and cope with this as best I can. The only thing I can say is that I am receiving medical attention for depression for other issues which at the time of the offence I was suffering from. But wont go into too much detail.

Any advice is welcome - though this has already been a learning experience. My character has changed some what and I am now trying to raise money for charity and volunteer to help with charity work. If only i could turn back the clock.

This is contradictory, Who is the registered keeper? who recieved the first NIP?

What device, or was it a policeman that caught you?

Remember, that now you have been cautioned, you can legitimately not answer a s172 request for stat info ( actually, not sign it. Thus making it non compliant with sec. 12 RTOA)

You need to post much more detail

Best regards Chris

A little progress - my fathers case has been dropped against him - dont know where that leaves me tho. The actual offence was 8 -9 months ago now and my solictor advised me that they needed to prosecute within 6 months of the offence.

I'm not quite sure what I can't answer under the act as last post said.
