Just a little update for you all as I haven't been here for a while. As you are aware I lost my daughter Hayley in March 2003 which you will have read about in my other posts and her death was also featured this summer on crimewatch uk. Well we went to a meeting on Monday and was informed that the police will be stopping looking for her killer. The reason they have given us is that all current enquiries have reached a brick wall and also that no fair trial would be given due to media interest.
Where is the justice in british law. I know its not the fault of our investigating officer as he has done a fantastic job and we know he did his best. It's the fault of the british legal system and the way the laws protect the guilty and not the victims or their families.

Mahali, you have my deepest sympathies, I only hope and pray that I never have to go through what you have.
I also feel for the Police Officer(s) involved, I can only imagine they are sick to the back teeth with scrotes getting away with murder.
You are right, it does seem that the criminal has more rights than the victim, and that Must change, otherwise we will be heading more rapidly towards anarchy.
I predict, that if things carry on the way they are, civil war will happen.

Mahali

Hope you are keeping well.

Sorry to hear this - and my wife and I really do feel for you. It does seem that the criminal fraternity has more rights than we do.

All we can do is keep plugging for fair deals for all and for change in law to deliver what we require as a society.

Big difference between what that scrote did and a very tragic error... and that is what we need to campaign for ....justice seen to be done and punishment actually fitting the crime.

Very sorry to hear that Mahali. Media interest sounds like a lame excuse given other things that have happened in the past. Not like anyone's named a suspect or anything. Pathetic! How that must have made you feel I can only imagine, and probably very frustrating for the officer you've been dealing with. Makes me feel the same as I did earlier when the news was reporting on how a drunk driver who killed a student and badly injured her boyfriend has had his sentence reduced on appeal. We've got too many laws and not enough bloody justice in this country.
