Not sure where this "fits"
Bolton press.. Anna Youssef reports.
It seems Bolton's IAM has slated the standard of the Bolton taxi driver.
Quote:
Bolton's IAM says too many flout the Highway Code ..ignore speed limits.. dodge speed cams..
The Bolton branch are asking the council to up the standards required.

These drivers know the location of each speed camera and red light cameral and even if it is in "operation"

Yep .. automation saves lives
Can we have our cops back please: I am no "manipulator" .. but I want real and trie justice and the idiots banged to rights. I admit to loving my car and perhaps being a little bit of a lad in Germany and on tracks.. but I think I and the Swiss beloing to the "good guys" who want safety and not some pretend automated version which fails on each count and wasted Steve's cash at one point .

I am fair.. I will meet the submarinated idiot to some points. His cash was wasted though. He knows people manipulate .. but he was stupid. He chose the very spots which had zero dangers. Those of us who live here did try to tell him the facts of life.. but he knew where to make cash and stuff saving lives. He must rue the days though as KSI here is at its highest ever levels

and all because of job preservation and revenue raising .. and poor Ian and his chums have to do as bidden and not as they know they must

No offence IanH .. we know you do your level best .. and get zero thanks.. apart from on this site

We know you do your best. Not your fault you are as rare as Panda giving birth these days

They risk overtakes on blind bends. Only where a camera operates does the Highway Code apply to them.
The piece says people are complaining about this dangerous driving
The taxi drivers' spokewoman claims they have the "knowledge" and skills were assessed anyway.
Drivers must have held a UK driving licence for 12 months. [/quote]
Look.. in their favour .. and I cannot speak for Bolton and Manchester really ]
But .. on the family trip to Cambridge.. we used a taxi twice to get from Stray Cat's to hotel. We found these drivers to be courteous and safe and very legal throughout. Likewise a bus driver in Oxford when we visited a Swiss undergraduate there..
We also attended some medical do down in the Manchester burb. I have to say that the driver was very polite and we felt very safe with him. He was Muslim and played Islam hymns and explained them to us. We rather enjoyed his ride to be honest and we thought him to be courteous, safe and competent.
We also travelled in a bus driven by a very skilled 21 year old once. His driving was smooth and we were particularly taken with his concern to help one of our elderly relatives at the time..
I guess we must be subject to individual human skill, personality and so on
