How do you prove that you have a no claims entitlement?

Has anyone ever been asked to prove this to an insurance company?
I have no claims back as far as I can remember, and am presently with Directline - after a year away from them - during which time I made no claims, but I have now received a letter asking for proof of no claims entitlement!

Anyone any ideas or experience of this?

Puzzled of Windermere!

The renewal notice from the "other" company normally shows the entitlement; failing that they will usually provide proof if you give them a call.

I remember getting a "proof of no claims bonus" type document.

*digs*

Yep, there it is, the document is entitled "Motor Renewal Confirmation (Proof of No Claims Bonus)".

Seem to remember getting one with every renewal notice.

That explains it then - Admiral failed to send a renewal notice for both cars covered but said they did!
When I chose not to renew with them, they asked for the certificates back - but I only had one!
