so my estranged wife was sent the nip for my speeding offence as the car is in her name. However,we have been living apart for the last couple of months. She recieved the nip 3 weeks ago and sent it back saying I was the driver. However,I have now been sent a nip and it is a full 30 days after the photo was taken. Is it still valid or is this a technical loophole that can be used as my wife and I are not on good terms and I don't always recieve the mail that goes to my old home which has not been redirected.

The place to ask these sorts of questions is pepipoo

I am assuming that you were not the driver and this is an example of malicious incrimination ;) This just adds to the whole intrigue of the s.172/incrimination process involved in automated speed detection and enforcement and proves that their evidence gathering process is a farce and potentially illegal.

So long as the first NIP - the one sent to your wife - was within 14 days then the process appears to be valid.

You have a "subsequent" NIP. No 14 day rule applies to subsequent NIPs.

Occasionally there's a tier of subsequent NIPs up to five or six deep...

e.g.
Lease Company
Head Office
Regional Office
Vehicle user
Vehicle user's wife/husband
