There are currently roadworks while the bridge carrying the main line of the M56 over the Sharston Spur at Junction 3 is repaired. These have a 40 mph limit on the spur, presumably because of narrow lanes offset to one side. Normally it's NSL.
However, as you come off the main line, the 30 mph limit drop is signed by just a normal pair of 40 mph red roundel signs, with no advance warning, and within a hundred yards of this is a not very obvious Monitron camera.
Obviously you'll know about it the second time, but it could easily catch out the unwary. How long before there is a serious tail-end shunt here when someone spots the camera and slams the anchors on?
This really is a classic "revenue-raiser" installation
