Just caught some of this - they've featured quite a serious looking crash directly under the view of a Speed Camera. The smashed up cars were literally across the Gatso markings on the road. Amazing that such a wonderful device could not prevent this crash :banghead: . And of course, on film the narrator and police conveniently made no reference at all to the camera.
Not sure but think the location was somewhere in Kent.

There was a fatal accident in Chessington a week or so ago, right by the famed speed camera which zapped something like 3,000 motorists in a 3 week period. Odd how they don't stop crashes, isn't it...

Did the bloody speed camera cause the accident? A powerful flash unit going off directly in the face of a driver coming towards the speed camera?

My wife and I were walking past a speed camera not long ago when it flashed as we were directly facing it. It hurt my eyes, but the effect on my wife was more serious. She has a condition in which her eyes react fairly slowly to light, so the flash blinded her for almost 30 seconds.

Had that happened to another driver it could have caused a serious accident.

I saw one go off because there was a stationary bus near it.
