Can the lawyers in Safe Speed Forums tell us, if it is against the law to name a motor vehicle and not the driver?

Which is what the report bad driving blogs/forums is doing, naming a vehicle and not a person.

If you have any specific legal questions you would be better off asking on the forums at www.pepipoo.com - this is not a legal forum.

Also you have asked this question in more than one place - it is normally considered good forum etiquette just to ask a question in one topic and await replies.

Thanks for the advice so even those this forum is called Speed, Safety, Driving and The Law, this is not a legal forum to ask about driving questions?

And as you cannot see what other messages you have posted, what other place have I asked the same question?

It's intended for the discussion of issues of policy relating to traffic law, not for specific legal questions.

There may be some legally qualified people on here who can answer you, but this isn't really the best forum for it.

I was asking and writing comments about Report Bad driving forums/blogs just like others in Safe Speed Forums.

So I guess if I cannot do this, then I guess others cannot either?

PS So asking a legal question in a law forum is not allow?

If I might step in:

Are you concerned at the BAD DRIVING forum being used to identify a vehicle in an accusatory manner, when the driver(s) might not be guilty when driving is shared by others?

If so, then I share your concern, although I am not sure of what you can do about it legally.

Sit tight, and see if others respond, but as Peter suggested Pepipoo might have better information, as they deal more with the legal aspects of driving, where as here we discuss driving within the law, or the consequences of transgressing the law.

Your post here does appear in another thread in the forum - I suggest that the more you post, the more likelihood there is of it being overlooked

Does a vehicle YOU drive appear there?

I am not really concerned and Ah no a vehicle I drive doesn't appear there, as I find it is strange that some think Reporting Bad Driving forums/blogs is wrong and yet some haven't came up the law to prove it is against the law to name a vehicle (not the driver).

So I was asking a simple legal question which is, is it against the law (see Peter I used the word law) to name a vehicle and not the driver?

And unlike Peter I well sit tight and see if someone can come up with the answer that it is against the law to name a vehicle in a Report bad driving forum/blog?

No I don't mean naming your vehicle with a person name

Peter has already mentioned the link above. which is this www.pepipoo.com

And the forum on safe speed is?

But then again did you look at pepipo yourself Dixie to see the quote on that site?

'Helping the motorist get justice'

As you must know reality, the Report Bad Driving doesn't name motorist's, so can they get justice at Pepipo?

I suggest that anyone who wants to answer crw's original question does so in response to his first post:

http://www.safespeed.org.uk/forum/viewt ... 749#167749

There isn't a specific "legal queries" forum on Safe Speed.

But if you look at the forums you will find they deal with a wide range of queries about traffic law.

So I guess if you look at the following forum, see it mentioned the word law or are you saying legal and law are not related?.

And are you telling me to go away, as you won't admit you don't know the answers to my question?

'Speed, Safety, Driving and The Law' doesn't talk about legal/law?

Now if you don't have anything else, back to my question.

Yes, someone's answered it in the other thread, see here:

http://www.safespeed.org.uk/forum/viewt ... 749#167749

As this one seems to have run its course I'm going to lock it.
