I like and agree with the message that you should say something if you feel the driver is doing something you feel is bad. I have always done so actually.

In fact, there's a work collegue I refuse to go out with after the last time when he was behind the wheel with me. He was doing an indicated 80 mph in the outside lane of a crouded M6 about 20 foot behind a car for a mile or more when I saw two other cars in our lane make contact further up. I shouted "BRAKE BRAKE!"
