The Cycling Plus forum has seen an invasion over the last few months.

First we had a woman who claimed that Speed camera sites see an increase in fatalities because the doctors were harvesting the organs of victims.

No, really.

Now we have a gentleman who variously describes himself as a surgeon, QC, andd safety expert.

This Safespeed refugee has started inventing cyclists' deaths in order to attack cyclists generally.

He made up a story about an insurance pay out being reduced after the cyclist was adjudges to have been responsible for his own death.

He disappeared after he was aksed for more details of this incident.

You can find these disgusting posts here;

http://www.cyclingplus.co.uk/forum/topi ... ichpage=14

He is now refusing to name the road where this took place.

Smith, can you please ask this nasty peice of work to stop being offensive on a cycling forum?

This chap and his wife were boasting on your site about there adventures on Ccling Plus a few weeks ago but t's not funny to tell lies about dead cyclists.

What can you do about this please?

Not looked on there for some time.

I see our friend Cuddy Duck has now restored his "incitement to murder" signature :(

Hmm, methinks Spindrift could have put his/her point across in a less antagonistic way.

C+ does attract extreme views. From all quarters.

Wait, so you're complaining about trolling... by trolling?

There is a history here from the cycling + forum.

Not sure it was a good move to suspend him though. Methinks might have been better to have let him have his say.

For those who do not know this character believe me he (or Paul) he really is quite mad. :? :? :? :?

This guy for real? Well... it looks to me as it's ol' Bombed brain himself posting.

Tssk!

Actually Krissi did not say that. She alluded to a personal incident. Wildy was on life support and things were not looking good. Mad Doc agreed to use of useable organs when it really started looking bad. Fortunately, Wildy pulled through and leads her life to the full in every sense of the word.

Kriss and Mike do not post on here. He has appeared as Limit Point on a couple of motoring sites in the past, and Krissi is involved in a French forum. However, she has been a member of C+ since it opened and is still there under her established name. Her membership is still valid - but she stopped being a regular poster as soon as the idiots arrived on the scene and the moderators did not stop i. She now rolls up from time to tume - but prefers he foreign sites as they behave with reason and courtsesy - so she tells me.

As for cyclists being killed on roads... It happens. Given the numbers reportedly killed and the emphasis placed on speeding drivers, it amazes me that these are not headline news each time they occur.

A PH BiB reported a bad night in June. when he posted that he had spent all night in the pouring rain sorting out a fatal involving a cyclist, and how much we dislike having to break bad news to families, especially when we know from family photos in the living room that we will be bringing devastating news to them.

I have attended many incidents in the past involving cyclists - and some were the fault of the driver, some 50/50 or 60/40, and some even 100% the fault of the cyclist.

Just because the person does not name the road does not mean it did not occur. I would not recommend cycling on the A1 or A19 as they are fast dual carriageways. In law - nothing to prevent a cyclist as i these roads have no motorway restriction - but would not be a wise choice to cycle on a road which is NSL dual carriageway.

As far as I can see - there is only one nasty piece of work on there and I find it significant that he claims his e-mail and real name are missing from his profile "because the moderators advised him owing to him exposing the site to a ible suit" (per a post on a "Sticky" in the Soapbox" to which my own wife has now posted a light funny.

Hi,
I have only ever posted on the cycling plus forum, so sorry for starters.
My point is always to try and provide a bit of a balance.
I ride my bike every day, but I also do a part time job as a driver in London.

Just to let you know that spindrift really annoys most of the Cycling plus forum members. He seems full of hate. He has even sent me personal emails making a joke about my mother

Please don't think all cyclists are like this nutter

Welcome.

I'd certainly like to believe that no one here will make that mistake.

There are nutters in cars too... :(

I don't know whether this was the case in question, but it is a report of an insurance company seeking to reduce payout on contributory negligence grounds because the cyclist wasn't wearing a helmet.

BTW, that road in question was the A41 in Walsall.
