Hi all,

Just wondering what kind of cameras are mounted on top of traffic lights? The camera's i have seen are pounted on washway road/park road and were installed roughly last year.

Its basically a large grey box with two cameras inside(guessing,one for each lane) with leds around the lense. This is mounted on top of the traffic light facing the towards your car. On this particular part of road, they're are two for each side of the road. I can't find any photographs of them on the internet.

I have been told they were there to check tax and insurance, or to actually monitor your journey

Have you looked on Speedcam.co.uk ? - lots of cameras on there .There seems to lots of unknown cameras sprouting up -I'm trying to find out what certain ones locally are -but not much luck .Suspect a lot of them are ANPR -(Automatic number plate readers = illegal car spotters) .BTW -have another look -any sign of an aerial .
