Another utterly pointless speed limit reduction has occurred right outside my village, and is another example of why council tax represents poor value for money.

A stretch of road joining Pulham St Mary and Pulham Market in Norfolk has had its limit cut from 60 to 40. There is a school at the bottom of the hill on the edge of Pulham Market but it is already well covered by a 30 limit and the section in question has a barely used pavement on one side and fields on the other.

I've lived here over 10 years and have never seen or heard of any accidents on that stretch of road. Meanwhile, across on the other side of Pulham Market, a road passing by several houses has a 60 limit (unless that too was cut, I've not been that way for a few days).

Thought about sending a rant to the local council but can't really see that it will make much difference. Still, it's nice to know Norfolk County Council has excess money to burn, perhaps they can give people a tax freeze in the upcoming reassessments eh?
