Can anyone shed any light on why the A48 bypass outside Cowbridge, which is a Dual Carrigaeway with full barriers on the central reservation, has now been reduced to a 40 mph speed limit.? This has only just been changed from a 50 mph, introduced not long ago, and the silly thing is that this limit only extends approx 200 yards at either end of the dual carriageway; then it returns to a single carriageway and 60 mph !!

They did some works on the viaduct section a couple of years ago, and messed the drainage up, so we now have a severe skid risk for part of whenever it rains (reduced to 30mph at times).

But why make the Dual Carriagaeway 40 and then back to 60 ?

Don't look for logic in LA Highways Departments, it went out of the window, along with common sense and never came back.
