Well, It would appear that Segways are now illegal for use anywhere other than on private land.
(They have been defined as a "Motor Vehicle" so cannot use the pavement but neither do they meet the requirements for a "Motor vehicle" so cannot be legally used on the road either

Many countries including in mainland europe (aparrantly) permit pavement use of segways.
Should we??
Personally I dont really see any fundimental diference between these and invalid carriages or electric assist bicycles. The problem seems to be that a number of new "Transport technologies" are in the pipeline and the state is getting its knickers in a twist trying (and failing) to work out which cubbyhole to put them into. The fact that he was proscecuted under an 1835 act says it all really!
