There is one not too far from me near but not in front of a school. The signs are totally illegal.....i.e. not of the prescribed size etc. This tells me that the council have not applied the correct procedure when changing it from the standard 30mph. Just let them try it on with me and I'll have them........

Oh and BTW there is no time limit on the signs, that would suggest that they are applying this at all times of the day or night.

The thing about 20 signs is that they are stingy with them. You rarely get a repeater - so if you miss the first one, because, I dunno, you are navigating a junction and trying not to squish some kids who are crossing the road, you can end up going down the road at 30 (potentially, depending on conditions, parked vehicles, visibility etc.) by accident. They are so arbitrary too. Some big, wide roads that are 20 and then tiny narrow streets intersecting them are 30 :loco:
