The mobile speed camera van was in action just round the corner from our factory this lunchtime. All the roads here used to be NSL but are now 30mph limit. Fortunately lots of people were flashing their lights as a warning so there were no issues.

However, on driving past the van, we saw that its livery has now been changed to "Community Reassurance Unit". This is clearly the latest politically correct euphemism dreamed up by the public communications department of the police.

We have gone through:

- Speed Camera Unit
- Safety Camera Unit
- Safer Roads Partnership

There is clearly a perceived need to disguise the true purpose of these vans from the public. Why?

What next -Community Policing and Reassurance ? . We've got a special unit locally dedicated to drug enforcement . Ans a safer Neighbourhood Team . Pity the reports I've given them about a very active dealer close to me get lost each time the team leader or tyhe beat officer changes . Only people determined to stamp out this dealer are those he pee's off ( most likely other dealers) . This little bundle of scum keeps Auto glass busy each month as well as the dent repair man .At the moment he's short a driver window and a well crazed windscreen .And this is car no 6 in approx eight years .

Just another example of 'corporate' babble - plain old English will not do if they can dress up a title or task in some ridiculous alternate title.

Someone is paid to think these up...
