He has also told a member of staff
that he knows where all the staff live and will be filming their driving.
RM has spoken to Adrian’s programme controller Mike Osborne who agreed that this sort of
behaviour was unacceptable and that he would ask Adrian not to mention the Partnership on air
any more.

So apparently it's unacceptable to film a person's driving? Huh? And they actively try to censor critics?

CR also explained that Monitron have type approval for a dual red light camera that also
photographs those speeding through a green light as well as those who jump red lights. What did
the Board think about installing these in Kent? The extra function may represent value for money
(two for one) but did we need to actually justify the use of it (would we be unfairly prosecuting
speeders where the crashes weren’t necessarily speed related?). Surprisingly the DfT are happy
to let us go ahead without proving the need for speed enforcement.

So they can put a speed camera anywhere, as long as it's a red light camera too, and the DFT approve.

 Bloody hell. No, no need to justify it at all, just stick it up. It's not like you need to be accountable to the public or anything.

If someone were to choose somewhere to speed, wouldn't a traffic light controlled junction with the lights on green be one of the safer places to do so? Surely it's safer to speed there than a few tens of metres along the road where there may be uncontrolled exits from side roads etc.

Only if you're sure that nobody is going to jump the lights.

Cheers

Because somebody, somewhere has greased a palm or two of course

It is all but a written guarantee that it will be dropped within a week of being on the road anyway, as no doubt "camera guy" will be some wet behind the ears novice who has only just stepped off of a 125 and now thinks he's the dogs dangly bits because he's on a gixxer.

There would be some irony in that happening.

I believe sufficient speed would reduce exposure to risk  However you'd have to be going like the clappers!
