The DfT haven't updated their list of partnerships since 2003. (In fact there's a very natable lack of recent camera stuff) The latest official document is:

http://www.dft.gov.uk/stellent/groups/d ... 507640.pdf

They incorrectly state that North Yorkshire is in the scheme.

Police force areas still outside the scheme are:

Durham
North Yorkshire
Central Scotland
Merseyside

I heard Merseyside Police had their Partnership application rejected by the DfT.

I've also heard that Surrey joined the scheme.

So there are now 4 Police force areas outside the scheme, unless anyone knows different.

As most of my drive to and from work is in Surrey, this is of interest to me. Does this mean they will now have to remove all the speed camera signs that are currently up almost everywhere, as they'll only be allowed to have them where there are actually speed cameras?

M90? Isn't that Strathclyde? I had a good look around the Central Scotland Police web site last night and found absoultely nothing about speed cameras.

In theory they should, but the DFT don't really seem to care about rule compliance.

Merseyside did indeed have their application rejected. The councils involved were at best lukewarm.

You would'nt have found much about Cumbria SCP until last year on the Cumbria police site, and on Cumbria County Council, they hardly get a mention unless you do some serious searching - several other schemes get better billing!!

I would hazard a guess that they are working on the principle that they may site a mobile camera from time to time. Here in Norfolk there signs in lots of spots where there are NO fixed scameras however, there are often mobile scameras from time to time.

Cheers, Chris.

There is a big variation in the quality and content of some partnerships web pages.
Maybe we could see some of your favourites?

This is on the front page of a well known site:

Did you know...
In all areas, the majority of fatal and serious injury accidents occurred while vehicles were driving straight ahead or going into left or right hand bends

Which only leaves..... reversing at high speed round a roundabout?
