I found this site:

This website has been launched following the tragic road death of Steve Good on 10th December 2004 on the B3081 near Verwood in Dorset. This site has a primary function of bringing pressure onto local planners to improve the safety on this notorious road so that no other set of family or friends have to go through what we all have.
This is very interesting, if a little scary:

The B3081 from Verwood through Dorset then Hampshire and back through Dorset towards Ringwood. The County boundaries are part of the problem with this accident blackspot , both counties have a separate accident and fatality records and neither of these sets of records individually show the road as a problem , despite the fact that combined figures show more than twelve deaths in the past four years . Therefore neither county accepts blame or is prepared to commit urgently required funding for improvements.

I found the site when looking through
Dorset "Safety" Camera Partnership links page and was expecting it to be all "blah blah too fast install camera and we'll all be happy" but it's not at all. Here's another bit from the "We Want" page:

Despite the fact that we all despise them ,install some finance raising cameras along this perilous route immediately .
Sounds like they want them as a temporary measure until the road can be improved. It would be nice if the money raised actually did go to fund road improvements.
I'm amased DSCP's link is still there with that on the site!
The fact that the road going in and out of the counties affects it's accident records is madness! This must happen all over the place!
