Here's some snippets from the Courting Disaster column

A man was killed after being hit by a lorry and a car while walking on the motorway at Solihull in the West Midlands.

An 18 year old man who set fire to a speed camera he thought had flashed his car in Norfolk has been banned from driving for a year.

A milk float driver was killed when his vehicle crashed into a building in Stoke on Trent.

A driver who ran over and killed a three-year old toddler in a car park at Gatwick Airport has been found guilty of careless driving. He was fined £700, ordered to pay £365 in costs and banned from driving for a year. He told the court he was not used to driving his wife's automatic car.

A 92 year old man died when the car he was driving hit a train on an unmanned crossing in North Yorkshire.

A police driving instructor was banned for speeding at 112mph on the M1. He was a member of the South Yorkshire force and said he was in a rush to get his wife home from holiday so that she could have a good night's sleep before starting work.

That was the case where the judge pronounced he must be guilty, because he was doing 8mph in a 5mph zone. (I believe he was guilty anyway, because he couldn't control the car. I just can't see why anyone would say something so stupid.)
