I asked about the 82% reduction claim in KSI in D&G. The partnership sent back these figures. I smell a rat!

Ah, it's been cleared up. They sent a further email stating they were at camera sites, not the whole area.

Even at camera sites it's all wrong. The problem is that the 'before' and 'after' datasets are too self similar and there's far too much fixed variation between the two.

They look like figures that have been made up to tell a story.

And, apart from anything else, cameras ain't that good. Not by any standards.

yes, all too perfect. Like they've selected say the 2 or 3 worst sites for the before story and the 2 or 3 best sites for the after. Either that or the road suddenly changed from single carriageway to motorway.

edit: just noticed that the sum of the first 2 years is the same, as is the sum of the last 2 years.
