A couple of weeks ago, the press carried the story of the mum and baby daughter in a car (in the Fens, I believe) who ended up on the roof in a drainage ditch because the car inexplicably "veered out of control". Poor judgement was not mentioned.
More recently, we saw 3 people die when the car they were in "swerved out of control" and crashed through a bridge guard-rail, landing on it's roof in the Tyne some 60 feet below (the cynic in me sees some relevance in the fact that it was 3 youngsters, at 15 minutes past pub closing time on a Saturday night).
How, I wonder, will the pratnerships use these incidents to further their dubious cause?
