A recent BBC "Look North" news programme featured a representitive of Brake, giving her opinion on the increasing number of acidents involving emergency vehicles on 999 calls.

During the article the representitive (who's name I can't remember) made her opinions very clear about road users exceeding the speed limit.

One of her points was emergency vehicles should not be allowed to exceed the speed limit when responding to 999 emergency calls as it simply isn't worth the risk.

What are people's views about this?

Should emergency vehicles no longer be exempt from speed limits when responding to emergencies?

I would be really interested to hear your opinions....
