This story come courtesy of pal of my sister. Sis's pal lives in the Leigh/Warrington area somewhere . Today she drove through a suburban village called Glazebrook. Apparently the road changes NSL to 30 mph some yards before the station per this lady. She says she saw a trafpol with a mobile on tripod. At first sight - looked like he was in a driveway - but as she drove home tonight she decided he must have been in a dirt track leading to a field/

My sister's pal does possess a RA (2) and there was no alert ... She was in a line of traffic travelling at speed - she thinks was 34 mph and iad two cars in front and several behind....

However, during the day at work - she mentioned this to various colleagues and people she converses on the phone with business-wise .. i

From the conversations it would t seem this guy makes a regular habit of this and sometimes makes the Cheshire prats by hiding nearer the field and nabbiing at the lolly posts .. He does have another fave cash point .. in the NSL where this road crosses the M62. - and apparently pings the M62 drivers as well.

Not sure what this road's called - but it links the Leigh-Warrington road ( which crosses the A580 at pub/Motel called the Greyhound) and the A57....

Be warned, chaps and lurks alike  in this area .. locals say its a real earner for Cheshire...

Wildy is currently making a similar post to warn on the PH site...

If the speedo was reading 34 then she will be ok. Threshold for further action is 35 mph and the speedo most likely overreads anyway.

Cheers for the warning though :)

Why I posted it..

Wildy made contact with the person who supplied this info to us.

Apparently this chap's fairly regular where this road crosses the M62 - last bridge before the M6 junction at J21A... Apparently lucrative in non rush hour there and the Glazebrook end of the road nets "loads" on heir way to make a honest day's work - complete with direct taxes

Our "source" (always wanted to say that  8-) ) tells us that, according to the lady behind the counter of the Glazebrook Post Office, most are copped as they increase speed within spitting distanceof the NSL - away from the village

So much for protecting the villagers then

Wildy has asked the person to mail us a photo of the site if she can. From the description - sounds more like revenue raising than "safety"

Yes, it's true. They operate at the bridge on Jct8 both ways (A49 turnoff)

Update #2 : it's an ANPR van, not a mobile camera van.
