On Monday and Tuesday evenings this week, in the Tyne Tees TV area a very good feature went out encouraging drivers to seek coaching in advanced driving skills.

I make no apologies for telling you that the feature was set up by my local group of the IAM in Darlington, with our chairman advising TV presenter, Pam Royle, out on the road.

We are very grateful to Tyne Tees for allowing us this air-time as part of the IAM's 50th year celebrations. Viewers were also told where the local IAM centres in the North East are and that our next assessment drives will be from Asda carpark, Whinfield Road, Darlington from 10.30 this Sunday. Normally members of the public only go out with Senior Observers but I can see Observers like me working on Sunday as demand is expected to be high! :)
