I need to use dual carriageways once in a while, well for three loads each August on my tractor. It was a beacon, but the load I'm pulling obscures the beacon on the roof. So I want one on the back of the trailer. How high does it need to be? I'd like it nice and high so drivers can see it way before they get up behind me. I have a feeling it need tos be at least 4ft of the ground. Any idea on what the law says?

I had a quick look and The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 on this page says:
Quote:
2. Position-

Every warning beacon shall be so mounted on the vehicle that the centre of the lamp is at a height not less than 1200 mm above the ground.
