I witnessed a car crash yesterday on the A57(M) in Manchester. This is a 50 limit flyover which links East Manchester with the M62, bypassing Manchester City Centre. The car was a Honda Civic Type R, and he was blatting it down the outside lane of the opposite carriageway as I was coming up the hill near the University of Manchester (formerly UMIST campus)

The car was doing about 20-30mph faster than traffic in the inside lane by my estimation, and lost control on a bend, skidded around and slid into the crash barrier (which has a 60ft drop down to the A6 underneath) - car was wrecked, driver and passenger seemed unhurt.

Weather was light rain at the time, possibly a diesel spill or some other contaminent as Type-R's are pretty nice handling cars. It was so fortunate there were no other cars in the inside lane as this could have been a tragedy, as they are replacing the barriers at the moment on this road, so some are missing.
