What is the score if your caught speeding and the police report states you were on one road when in fact you were on the road around the corner

Cheers

i drove onto a factory/industrial estate. The road was straight and empty and i put my foot down to see what the car could do.

Would it not be better to see what the car can do on a duel carraiage way or motorway?

It works out i was speeding for approx 250yds

I can't remember where I saw this but don't you have to be above the limit for a set time for it to be considered speeding?
What is the time taken to travel 250 yrds acclerating from 30-65 and back down to 30?

Am not sure about the adress.

It sounds as if you were unfortunate that your one moment of speeding coincided with probably the only police operated speed trap you'll see for years. I don't know how safe you were at that speed, I wasn't there to form an opinion. It may have been completely safe, it may have been wreckless. Lying in court about the reason you were speeding strikes me as indefensible in either case, and something you would most definitely not want to advertise on a public forum.

Rabans lane is a a common spot for the speed traps since it's a 30 limit that everyone ignores, especially on the morning commute, and for bonus points that area is regularly visited by the local chavs. I've seen them using it for drag racing late at night (though they usually use Eddison Road for that)

As for the police report, unless have some kind of proof that you were not on that road, I don't think there is much you can do, plus you've already pleaded guilty, so it's a bit late now. You would probably habe been better off arguing the inaccuracies of the laser device used and try to get your speed pushed below the 26mph threshold (ie. 56mph in this case) then ask for just 3 points and 60 pounds,.

In response to the above comments, it was going back a fair while so the points are done dusted and gone now and im a lot more sensible. It was just curiousity to know. There have been a few things of late that have opened my eyes a little and made me what to know a bit more about my rights in various circumstances.
