Hey guys,

I'm currently doing a dissertation on the effects of speeding but need help finding data/statistics; does anybody know of databases on vehicle emissions/causes of accidents/average motorway speeds, or anything else which you think will be relevant? Also do people know of any literature on the subject?

Any information or ideas about how to approach the subject will be gratefully received!

Chris.

The DfT published two important annual publications that you'll need they are called "RCGB" and "TSGB". As it happens a new TSGB has been published today. Here's the link:

If you want to do an honest job (here's hoping!) you'll need to consider the arguments and the references here:

And watch out for highly false and misleading data. See this page:

Lewi, is there any work done on emmissions at different engine loads. IE low idle no load to high idle or full load. Are there any figures to show which engines are the most effcient? We get figures to show how much fuel an engine uses but no how well they use it. I can get test data for agricultural tractors but not for cars.
