One of the 30 mph signs was defective, the other obscured. I wouldn't be bothered so much about whether camera signs were there or not, personally. In fact there was one of those there, but it's not much use if the speed limit is unclear.

What was missing was any reasonable advice that the speed limit was 30mph!

No reasonable driver is going to deliberatley exceed the speed limit (which is probably why this pratnership elected to hide the signs). One sign hidden in hedges and it was a repeater therefore meaningless, that road was a 60 mph speed limit. Or perhaps the suggestion from certain members is that one should always stop your vehicle and search the undergrowth for hidden signs - because that would be safe wouldn't it?

I would just like to add 2 rebuttals to a comment I have seen on this thread: Don't speed and you won't get zapped!

1. Tell me what the limit is and I won't speed.
2. Show me a person who has faith in the infallibilty of technology and I'll show you a moron!
