I'm sure it's just for those reasons, and nothing to do with you hating cars. Do you care that crashes in 20mph zones are
more dangerous on average than those in 30mph zones? Thought not. As long as motorists are being restricted and penalised, you're happy, aren't you? "Safety" is only a "concern" to you when you think you can use it as an excuse to campaign for anti-car measures (not that you should need such excuses if anti-car measures are so great in their own right).
