The DfT have published meeting notes regarding an FoI request. Guess who made the request? :)

Interestingly, they sent me a little more than they have published on the web site.

BikeSafe There was concern that, while road accident fatalities were continuing to fall, the one area of increase was with motor-cyclists. It was further recognised that the main problem group were those people “re-discovering” motor-biking in early middle age who were purchasing powerful models capable of very high speeds. Despite little or no additional training some of these people were riding their motorbikes along single carriageway rural roads at very high speeds. It was agreed that speed targeted education was vital and national co-ordination of BikeSafe for the safety camera partnerships would be a legitimate use of netted off funds. ACPO and PA would draft a short paper for the treasury to ensure there were no problems.
