When's the next one then? Sadly I was away while you guys organised this great event, and was away for the weekend.

But I'm up for the next one, and will be happy to take an active part in organising. :D

I assume we give the Scamerati a week to respond? Or is it straight in to the organisation?

ideally there should be one on every major motorway, a summer of discontent would certainly go someway to putting the message across...

I don't think that will happen. They will be hoping this is a one-off.

Lets hope it is not. I know others who have seen the news and want to join in. It would be a shame to lose the momuntum.

Well looks like we got a convoy! "Hey pig-pen this here's the rubber duck"...:D

Question is, when and how do we organise this?

As one who did the m4protest 30 miles is a long way at 30-40 mph.
the bike riders looked like they were doing ti-chi. my right foot went to sleep. the round trip took about two and a half hours. . The whole m6 might just be a tad ambitious!

having said that , I am up for any protest south of Wolverhampton.
remember that it is not how far or how slow that matters. It is how many people join in and how good a photo oppertunity you provide for the press pack that will win your place in the six o'clock news.

timing: a slow news day or hijack a big news day with a stunt....

idea: convertable car, driver dressed as tony blair in the lead of the protest!

Perhaps some black & white stills of Michael Howard sprinting past some scameras on his hustings!

How about circling the M25 as a protest, big coverage guaranteed?

I've given the M25 some thought as our next venue.

The services are too far apart for us to be able to do the same as the M4 protest. We could still run from (say) South Mimms (A1) but would have to turn around at a chosen junction and head back.

That's alright if we go anti-clockwise but if done clockwise the A10 junction becomes a choke point as one lane filters off and only two lanes continue.

A complete lap of the M25 is a possibility though something of an epic for anyone wanting to go the whole way round. If we chose this route I'd suggest a slightly higher target speed than on the M4 knowing as we now do that we will almost certainly end up slower.

One advantage of an M25 lap would be that drivers could join up, do a few junctions and then turn around and go home.

Thoughts anyone?

They also have that stupid 'variable limit' which suceeds in defeating the object very well, if this went ahead (on the M25) remember the lanes switch from 4 to 3 then 2 and so on etc so it would need a bit of planning if we wanted to keep a lane clear

So what's it to be then folks? Another M4 jobbie, the M6 seems to be favourite with some people or the M25?

How about practice on the M6, maybe somewhere else afterward and then the M25?

We could have a few on same day - but with M6 - we have to choose carefully.

M6 toll road is one possible - it flows and they appear to like nabbing folks on this one. Lancaster Northwards... would also be OK most days- and we must include the JJ's patch. Wildy :neko: and self would be up for that... and our young driver would love the experience too.

We'd be able to park our youngest with local cattery minder for the day too.

Busy congested stretches - Brum - where it merges A14/M1, Thelwall and parts of Leyland/Preston/Lancaster ... too congested to impact.

M60? Impossible - but M61 is fairly clear and they have bee at i=on a bridges there too. We would have to choose very carefully and I would include A1(M) in scam infested bit in the protest too for good measure.
