Time to start campaigning against this before we all have to crawl along at 40mph on rural roads and get points for even 1 mph over the limit.....

The fake environmental reasons they'll trot out also need bashing on the head. A gentle reminder that one long haul flight produces more CO2 than a whole year's worth of a car's travel should point them the right direction. Also the daft idea of reducing speed limits fails to mention that if we switched cars over to biodiesel and bioethanol and allowed more people to work from home more often that CO figure could be reduced substantially without throttling people's freedom to travel. There was also a mention in one article I read about the indirect contribution of 700g of CO2 for a single dish washer cycle. Whether that is more or less than a sink full of hot water from a combi or immersion is a moot point...
