Same thoughts as me.Where I live(north Dorset) you would see a police car very rarely on the road, now it's even less because I think they're meeting their targets by using cameras. Just before my car was flashed by a camera I wasted an hour of my time and did a 50 miles detour to boot, following a drunk dirver while my wife was conversing with the police on my mobile.Needless to say I was lied to in that no car was intercepting us.I followed the vehicle to his destination point and waited just up the road for about half an hour then gave up!
Incidentally I saw the camera van that flashed my car on the return journey but didn't worry as it had safety written on the side and I knew I was driving safely(82 on a dual carriageway with very little traffic, mid afternoon,no junctions and lovely weather.I'm going the unsigned route on that one but suffice to say that the Police won't get any help from me in the future.
