They dont stick to the rules as described in my description of the shambolic performance of all who dealt with this matter.

My point is the PCSOs were operating the equipment...They have no right...

BUT should they have been on laser duty ??? NO

DID they operate it properly ?? NO

Please conclude if you wish.... I will post the details of my complaint and appeal may help others and people should see how police forces squander their money on powerless people who they struggle to task as suggested by the Home Office.

THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO THIS TYPE OF WORK.. ANYONE AGREE ?????

I think we have agreed (in principal), that if they follow the rules they have a right, that’s why this debate is concluded.

If you refuse to hug me one more time, I will not be happy!

Hi Andy :hello: remember me, blimey Andy are you still going on :?: :loco:

Still makes interesting viewing  after a few weeks break to see that you still are unable to accept things and move on. :rotfl:

So to make life easy for you, I've done some research for you, dead easy as well :happydevil:

A PCSO or any person may operate a device at the roadside.

They must be in company of a PC who must form prior opinion and inform the operator before the device is operated.

They must be certified to operate the device.

The PCSO cannot stop the driver for speeding it must be the PC.

Anyway am off now, goingto the pub for a :drink2:

Nice to see you again, Hi Mike how's things?

See ya soon Andy :bighand:

Big Si,
Whats the point of that, 1 cop can do it all alone, so the poor cop has to babysit the PSCO's and do the enforcement, what a waste of precious resourses.

Tim

My other point ... what a waste of valuable resources..

I think they set this particular trap up in St Helens to give them something ..well .

1) SOMETHING to do...

2) Sonething to make em feel ..like they belong.. :( :(

3) TO MAKE THEMSELVES ...HATED

Big Si, (who wasnt coming here again), and Mike PCSO Guardian Angel what are you PCSO people trying to do..you are not likely to have people in communities giving you a lot information or intelligence.

Everyone will get fed up with you trying stick em on.. disike your role and you are alienating Joe Public against you in a service that needs intelligence and public co operation.

This whole idea of PCSOs is a waste, and you are now having real PCs having to babysit you at speed traps cos you have some powers to do some things but are by and large trying to do a job with NO POWER

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

You should all be made PCs if that is what this PCSO thing is about Traffic law enforcement. !!

Back to my original suggestion that you are all a waste of taxpayers money ..we may as well have real PCs !!!! or am wrong ????

HA

Andy, educate yourself mate. Here are some links to show the good work PCSO’s are doing and positive views, it’s a different perspective. (yes, not everyone agrees with you Andy)
Have a read, you form an educated opinion, by taking in to consideration, all the evidence you can find and forming a balanced educated opinion.

Actually the links I have checked are straight PR. That means that someone was PAID to manufacture those views. If that's the best you've got, you're in BIG trouble.

No, that’s what I’ve got after ten minutes of googgling.

Sorry, but that’s inaccurate, Police do not pay news papers to print.
They issue a press release and the paper decide if they want it.

No one is PAID.

And only a few are from police press releases, the others are articles about PCSOs, from the papers or from residents etc.

And all the PCSOs in the links that got commendations??

Suppose they got them for beating the world record for eating pies then.

'Plastic police' playing vital role

Quote:
“In 2005, 18 per cent of total violent crime in the Bradford South division took place in the city's West End. This year, that figure is down to eight per cent, with 500 less violent crimes. Over the past three years, crime in the city centre has fallen by 40 per cent.”

Straight PR or plain and simple facts??

Half and half I would say, just like all the unjustified claims that are anti-pcso that you lot repeat.

Mike

You misunderstand yet again. Nobody was paid to print them by the police, but there is a healthily-funded department within organisations, including the police, called, variously, marketing, publicity, press interface, ... but referred often by those on the outside as spin doctors. It is these people who are paid to come up with the words.

I haven’t misunderstood anything; SS said in someway someone was PAID to print certain views.

Police forces have a press officer, if they need to advertise say “police surgeries/community meetings” for example, then they have a budget for that, not for general press releases, like a PCSO getting a commendation for saving someone’s life (like two of the links)

They merely release the press release and see if anyone wants to print it or put it out on the radio etc.

I think you are confusing Government with the Police.

Can I just ask, have you ever believed anything you have read that was positive, ever, just disregarded it as spin hay??
I read all the press, the good and bad, and form my own opinion based on personal experience and ALL the information available, but hay that’s just me….I’m crazy!

I’m not sure of the relevance to this topic, but I’m in no doubt that there have been unlawful prosecutions in the past, no doubt at all.

Stand operating the gun....have the PC stopping and sticking people on... cos you cant do it can you Mike or BIG Si :D

What a concoction...you all are a waste of the hard earned tax I gave to the Chancellor last month ! ....

You might get easy money for some of the dubious work that you do..dogs pooing, stunts like above..rest assured some of us have to earn that money you and Si get given for nothing..and complain I will when I see my MP this week....

Go and get a real job ..if anyone will have you !

Yes he and his wife had a street party with a couple of PSCO's and a WPC, and it was a most disagreeable experiece, it would appear.

I think you’ll find Tim, they were stood away from the PC as the PC was “apparently” slagging them off, so they were not together when the ticket was issued, if you remember rightly they all jumped in the road together like children then the PC issued the fine, and did the bad mouthing, while the PCSOs went back to the laser to eat a pie’s.

I just can’t take him seriously, he has never met a PCSO, never talked to one, never been one, never read their job description and hasn’t a clue of their powers and training.

And you back him up constantly, so I can’t take you seriously either, I shouldn’t think you’ve ever met one either.

Back to the litter ticket.

i met a PCSO ouside my daughters school patroling the zig zag lines, very nice she was as well, i would rather see a PCSO doing this lower level of patrol than a PC,

another point i am around 90% certain i saw a PCSO in the passenger seat of our local camera van
