Found this in the local rag following an interesting exchange of views on speed cameras....

THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME

It is stated that speed cameras are necessary to reduce fatalities and injuries on the roads.
We are also informed that smoking causes about 20 to 30 times more deaths and illness than traffic accidents.
When smoking is banned in public places, will we see smoke safety cameras installed to catch any unwary offenders and will anyone caught on camera have a fixed penalty fine imposed and their National Health certificate endorsed, with four endorsements resulting in being banned from NHS services for a statutory period?
After all, just like speed cameras, they will be necessary to ensure public health and safety.
