They just showed an annoying road safety item.

They showed lots of crashes and claimed that it was a 'hidden death toll'; the old if these people died for any other reason there would be an outrage. What about MRSA? Accidents in the Home? Accidents on stairs?

Ladyman claimed credit for the safest roads in the world. Cheating bastard. He's inherited it and present policy is causing us to lose our lead.

Anyone else see it?

Anyone got a BBC link? I can't find one.

Just had a similar thing on BBC Look East (East Anglia region) a day out with police patrol cars, one from Northampton concerning following case.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nort ... 207028.stm

Death toll in Northants had doubled this year !!, despite all the "safety cameras". I just made sure they didn't get any money from me with their speeding allegation from an LTI 20-20 camera van.

The link you gave didn't seem to load properly.

I've dug deeper and added another by editing the post above. Thanks.

Paul, Mr Ladyman says that through the use of technology (speed cameras) they have been very effective according to all the statistics.

So you must be wrong, since who can argue with such dependable results, however bent they may be.

As Churchill may have said, they are using statistics like a drunk uses a lamppost, more for support than illumination.

They link works ok now, but came up in Real Player, but was better once I switched over to the Windows Media Player.
