I suspect most of us have, but if you plan to - remember to copy and paste the link into your browser (I gave the same advice on PH) and NOT to click on the link given in the OP, to ensure that any tracking software doesn't pick you up as having come from a "motorists" site and lets them use that to try and discount the nearly 100,000 people who have signed so far.

Does it matter ?
"they" ignore general elections and their own MPs', so what chance has this poll got of making a difference ?
Unless it serves a greater purpose there is no hope.

I think that when this poll closes there will be a lot of media coverage....I want to see them squirm.

In reality there will be at least one general election before it is introduced so the most interesting part will be how the opposition parties react.

BTW another 3000 people have signed since 10:38 this morning :o

No 10 website jammed by spy-in-sky petition

A backlash against the Government's controversial spy-in-the-sky road tax plans has crashed the Downing Street website. More than 105,000 drivers have now signed a petition on the site calling for and end to the draft proposals and the sheer weight of internet traffic has made the system fail.

Last night the thousands of names usually shown were replaced by the error message: "Due to heavy load, the list of signatures is currently not being displayed." The same message then appeared below all other petitions on the site.

The road tax petition is by far the largest the website has hosted. The next largest with only 17000 names, calls for repeal of the hunting ban.

Such huge opposition to the road tax plan raises concerns that what has been touted as one of the Government's most important transport policies could be scrapped.
